Day one


- Departure from Belgrade in the morning

 

- Drive through Topola and visit to the mausoleum of Karadjordjević royal dynasty - Church of Saint George was built as a mausoleum temple of the royal Family. Church is known for its white marble exterior an the mosaic made of 725 pictures, with 1500 figures at 3500 m2. Mosaic is made up of over 40 million pieces of colored glass and gold. In the crypt there are 39 tombs of royal family with the tombstones of Dečani onyx. The museum keeps royal belongings and royal crowns.


- Wine tasting and lunch at the Winery Alexandrovich - Family Alexandrovich has been engaged in grape growing and wine producing for more than hundred years. Miloš Alexandrovich, the grandfather, was one of the founders of Vinča wine cooperatives in 1903. At the beginning of the World War II, the family had 30,000 vines working closely from the beginning with growers and vintners of the king's cellar.

When in 1992, the famous royal cellar Živan Tadić, who after the World War II emigrated to Canada, heard that the family wine business Alexandrovich renewed tradition of Oplenac wines, he sent the original recipe to Vinča - varietal composition of Triumph, the best wine of the Kings cellars that, before World War II, was on wine cards of almost all European courts.

 

Today, familiy Alexandrovich is a leading Serbian private wine producer.

Day two

 

- Breakfast

- Visit to the Monastery of Žiča - Žiča is an orthodox monastery located near the town of Kraljevo. Monastery, together with the Church of the Ascension of Christ, was built by the first Serbian King, Stefan the Crowned, from 1205 untill 1225. The monastery was destroyed in the thirteenth century, but was rebuilt by King Stefan Milutin in early fourteenth century. When, in the beginning of the thirteenth century, Saint Sava returned from the holy mountain of Athos to Serbia, the Serbian government was shaken by the conflict between Serbian successor to the throne, Stefan and Vukan. Reconciling quarreling brothers. Saint Sava, together with Stefan decided to build a monastery of Žiča as the Serbian Imperial Church. Place where the monastery was built is as far from Constantinople and from Rome, which meant that

Serbia was a crossroads  between the Orthodox East and Catholic West.


- Trip to the Monastery of Studenica - one of the largest and richest monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church. It is situated 39 km from Kraljevo, founded by Stefan Nemanja in 1190 year. The fortified walls of the monastery are surrounding two churches: Church of Our Lady and the King's Church (Church of Saints Joachim and Anna), both made of marble. The monastery is known for its collection of frescoes from the thirteenth and fourteenth century. In 1986, UNESCO included Studenica in the list of World Heritage Sites. Studenica is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The first phase of works was completed in spring 1196, when Stefan Nemanja left the throne to his son Stephen the First Crowned and retired to their legacy. Nemanja's third son Sava Nemanjić, after

reconciling his brothers Stefan and Vukan, transferred the relics of St. Simeon to Studenica where they are today.

- Arrival at the Ušće (Confluence) town and boarding onto rafting boats. BODY RAFTING and Rafting over the Ibar River – Rafting is accompanied by professional guides - the skippers, in modern raft boats, with all the necessary equipment - helmets, uniforms and shoes from neoprene.

- Departure from the boats below the Fortress of Maglič and tour of the fortress - one of the well-preserved medieval Serbian fortresses in the gorge of the River Ibar. Gorge in which the king, for the love of his bride, planted lilacs and forever left the name - Valley of Lilacs

- Lunch in the restaurant. Return to the hotel.

 - Dinner and overnight.

Day three


- Breakfast.

- Free time for walking along Vrnjačka spa

- Visit to the Aleksandrovac Minić Winery in the village Tržac. - Wine tasting with lunch and holiday bungalows, a mini village made of wine barrels.

- Trip to Belgrade and the arrival to Belgrade in late afternoon.
