PDF Print E-mail

- Boarding into the bus (car) in front of the hotel.

- Visit the museum of mining on Avala Mountain and the first mine from the time of the Vinča culture from 2500 BC

- Visit to the Avala Monument to the Unknown Soldier. First peasants from the Avala villages found the grave and gathered some money to build a small memorial service to one unknown soldier. On 1915 Germans buried one soldier at the grave in Krstac site, and marked it by these words "Ein englischer unbekannter Soldat" (unidentified Serbian soldier). Construction of the big monument of the Unknown Soldier on Mount Avala was initiated by King Alexander I. The monument was supposed to be a memorial to victims of World War I. The dates inscribed on the monument, 1912-1918, indicate that the monument refers to those killed in the Balkan wars of the 1912 and 1913. The monument was built between the 1934 and 1938, on a former medieval fortress Zrnovo.

- Going to a "known hero" – Avala tower, and a tour of the tower and viewpoint. Hero of the restoration after the NATO bombing stands as a symbol of constant renewal of Serbia after many wars. 204.57 m high tripod, which stands on the mountain at 500 meters above sea level, is the highest structure in the Balkans. During nice weather conditions, you can see almost half of Serbia from the lookout...

- Going to a restaurant Stari Majdan (old pit), carved in the old village quarry in ethnic style.

- Return to the hotel.
